Trending Now: Heat sign McRoberts to 4-year deal

Sterling vs. Sterling is underway in an L.A. courtroom. The future of the LA Clipper franchise in the balance. The first called witness called was  Donald Sterling, but he failed to appear. A neurologist testified today that Donald Sterling's brain scan showed Alzheimer's.

 

The Houston Rockets have offered Chris Bosh a max deal. 4 yrs, $96 million.

Josh McRoberts has committed to sign a free-agent deal with the Miami Heat - 4 yrs, $23 million. 

Channing Frye has agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal with the Orlando Magic.

 

 

NFL

A federal judge has granted preliminary approval to a deal that would compensate former NFL players for concussion-related claims.

The NFL last month agreed to remove a $675 million cap on damages.

The settlement is designed to last at least 65 years and cover retirees who develop Lou Gehrig's disease and other neurological problems.

More than 4,500 former players have filed suit, some accusing the league of fraud for its handling of concussions.
